As to the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Newton, Connecticut, remember that probably both the son who did the shooting, and the mother who tawt the son to shoot and,. at home, regularly left her weapons case unlocked and unattended -- while claiming the son was such an insane person that he was capable of anything, yet she herself coud get by on her story of the son's insanity and actually she had been overlooked in the psychoforensics of this case. I tend to think they both had become insane, symbiotically so, as she wanted to play the game of the virtuous mother, and cast him as the helpless nut who needed treatment, not her. Being a mother is not a licence to kill or be killed, to set up the son to carry out her death wish. It's sad, it's tragically sad, it's human — and really what they had going between them is not the main point. Other people, many children, died because this game was being played between mother and son.

Gun Control — these weapons don't seem intended for some tidy little murder in a family dispute ....
"In January, Senator Dianne Feinstein will introduce a bill to ban the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of military-style assault weapons (like the AR-15 pictured below), handguns and shotguns that can accept high-capacity magazines. The move comes 2 weeks after a madman went on a shooting rampage in an elementary school, killing 20 children and 6 adults. It’s high time that the government of the United States took action to disarm the general public who have no business owning firearms. Statistics show that most violent crimes are committed by handguns in the United States — and that most of those weapons were stolen or obtained through legal loopholes at gun shows."

— Shay Riley's blog Booker Rising (Dec29,2k12) quotes blogger Sandra Rose above and presents pictures of some of the weapons Sen Dianne Feinstein proposes to ban. The weapon on the top "shelf" is, I think, an AR-15. AR = Automatic Rifle ?
