Journos held for 5 days -- NBC veteran reporter Richard Engel and team, producer Ghazi Balkis and camerman John Kooistra -- tell story of how they were traveling with Syrian Sunni rebels when overwhelmed by Assad-loyalist Shi'ite guerrillas trained by Iran Revolutionary Guards to make an exchange for Iranian captives of the rebels thru a Lebanese Hezbollah stronghold in Syria (note the Axis of Assad Syrians, Hezbollah Lebanese, and IranRGs). The American jourjnos were pawns.  However, the Assad-loyalists encountered a Free Syrian Army rebel checkpoint and opened gunfire.  Their captors lost the skirmish and were killed.  And the USA journos were taken into Free Syrian Army custody and then released.  The FSA unit was al-Queda oriented and seeks to establish a Sunni Caliphate in a freed Syria.  The intrepid journos tell their story on Today.com -- check out the video.
