EconomicsUkraine: Corporate Social Responsiblity: Metals & mining companies construct new drinking water wells in Komsomolsk, Ukraine

Komsomolsk is a city of about 50,000  (another source says 300,000) on Barbara Lake in Poltava oblast (state) in the Ukraine.  It's been having problems with its drinking water probably due to heavy mining in the area, as both mining and metals companies are active in the area.  So, a combo of these mining and metals companies, umbrellaèd under an entity named Metinvest (with connections to United Coal Company, Blountville, Tennessee, USA) have taken up the social task of renewing Komsomolsk's drinking water supply.  Aside from this instance of corporate social responsiblity in Ukraine (in English and Ukraininian below, notice the background info we found on Metinvest also below).  Wikipedia tells us that the oblast is a humming center of industry: "The oblast’ is a center of Ukraine's oil and natural gas industry, with many wells and pipelines situated here. There is a major oil refinery plant in the city of Kremenchuk. Important iron ore processing facilities also present. In general there are 374 large industrial organization and 618 small industrial organizations."
